Chef's Table
A signature event of Provodore, our Chef’s Table event is a unique platform. It facilitates the opportunity for the producer to interface directly with the chef to detail the values and often artisanal aspects of their hard earned labour. The reality is often these high value special and handcrafted products get lost in the vast product catalogues of the world’s broadline distributors. For single producers, the economics of holding their own event can be prohibitive.
T H E C O N C E P T
The concept is simple – gather a selection of New Zealand’s finest food and beverage products and engage one of the most innovative and esteemed chefs in the market to present the food at its very best. Invite top chefs and restaurants to sample and hear the stories behind them and connect them directly with the supplier.
We encourage producers to send the farmers, brewers, winemakers or growers. This is not a forum for sales or marketing executives, this is a unique opportunity for two of the most important participants in the supply chain to share their stories and experience.
Although the concept is simple, the delivery and attention to detail needs to be perfect. Events are held between 10pm and 2am, a time that enables the chefs to finish work and come and experience the products at their leisure – in a relaxing environment (allowing full appreciation without the sales push). The preparation needs to be top notch for the most discerning audience – they also get to see the product in its raw form.
The company held its first event in Singapore in December 2015 with over 25 chefs attending – several from Asia’s top 50 restaurants.
